LG Electronics has launched its new Scarlet LG80 LCD TV, which follows LG's Scarlet LG60 and LG70 models. The new LCD features 3.1-channel virtual surround sound with slick tuned speakers that automatically slide out of the side of the set when you turn it on. A center channel speaker is dedicated to sound in the human vocal range, and a woofer is located on the back of the TV enhancing bass frequencies.
The Scarlet LG80 LCD TV boasts 50 watts of output, compared to 20 watts for most TVs, and looks like a good choice if you're not ready to spring for a 5.1 or 7.1-channel home theater audio system. The Scarlet LG80 offers 1080p full HD viewing and 30,000:1 contrast ratio. The HDTV includes a USB 2.0, and two HDMI 1.3 ports. Multimedia is covered with three AV modes that LG promises will optimize the TV’s picture for movies, video games or sports by a single click of a remote control. The LG80 will first be available this month in Asia, but we should see it hit other markets in early 2009.be available from October in all markets except North America and Europe starting, 2008.
